PIC Results for I=100mA and comparison with Experiment
The figure below shows Ez/Ng vs. NgR for I=100mA:
In each case, R=1.0 cm, height = 20 cm, and gas T = 300 K.
- For NR < 1e16 cm-2, there is
good agreement between the PIC and experimental results.
- For NR > 1e16 cm-2, the agreement with experiment is not
as good. A possible reason is the neglect of ionizations from metastables.
- For NR < 1e16 cm-2, the PIC Ez from the anisotropic HBS cross-section set is lower than that of the isotropic L&K cross-section set.
- For NR > 1e16 cm-2, the Ez from the two PIC cases converges.
The Tables below shows some PIC (isotropic L&K XS) output:
(ne0 = electron density on axis,
KE0 = average electron energy on axis,
Phi0 = Potential on axis)
