Simulation of DC discharges

XOOPIC and XPDP1 simulations of DC discharges have been presented in
pieces in various PTSG seminars since the work was undertaken in
cooperation with Benet Laboratories.  Now the integrated work is
presented.  As a preliminary presentation prior to my qualifying exam, I
will discuss these discharge simulations and theory.  The different
regions (cathode fall, positive column, negative glow) of the discharge
are considered separately as well as all together.  As I am preparing for
the qualifying exam, questions and observations are most welcome.
